FS98 Fokker F28 Fellowship PH-MOL Air Anglia
********************************************************************************************
This is another example of PH-MOL, the third F28 to come off Fokker's production line.
Air Anglia used it in the late 1970's on a number of services - I seem to remember seeing it quite often at Edinburgh (Edinburgh-Norwich perhaps?). Air Anglia's colour scheme was rather nice, and particularly suited this aircraft. I think it also carried a British registration for a time, but unfortunately I can't remember what it was. (G-WW** or something like that)
Other operators of PH-MOL were Martinair, LTU, Alisarda, Ghana Airways, Nigeria Airways,
Lima Congo, Pars Air, TAT, Air UK and Air France!

TECHNICAL NOTES

This is a pretty old model, but I think it looks not bad. The tail is a bit too big, and the
airbrakes are a bit too small, but it looks quite convincing. It doesn't take to being animated very well, but it flies quite nicely. I've repainted it from the excellent Martinair model of the same aircraft, but apart from the engine intakes, the wheels and the wings, everything has been re-done. When animating it, I've had to adopt a truncated sequencing of the main gear to avoid the undercarriage coming up through the wings. Finally, I've speeded up spoiler deployment (although its still slower than the real thing) and cut spoiler drag by half, which I think is more realistic. There is no reverse thrust on an F28!

CREDITS

Repainted from Thomas Diderich's excellent Martinair example of the same aircraft- original design by Bill Alderson and Rob Bennis. Thanks to all of them, to Chuck Dome for the excellent TEXBMP2 and MDLVUE, and to Abacus Software for Aircraft Animator.

LEGAL NOTES

This aircraft model is an enhancement for Microsoft's Flight Simulator 98. It is
Freeware and must not be sold under any circumstances, either singly or as part of
any software package whatsoever. All the various elements of the model are the
copyright of the creator of that element, who has agreed to its free distribution
as part of this file only.
In particular the repaint is my copyright and I will not give permission for
my work to be sold.

NOTE: Nothing in this zip file will harm your computer; however, by installing the plane
you accept the risk.

INSTALLATION

As with all my aircraft, this should simply be a matter of unzipping with Winzip straight
into the AIRCRAFT directory of your FS98. However, I always unzip other people's aircraft
into a temporary folder first, and this is probably a good routine to adopt, just in case!
Anyway, once you have the folder in the AIRCRAFT directory, you can fly it, and have a look
at it, but it won't have the correct yellow until you complete the next process.
Open up the folder marked 'AA28' and inside you will find another folder called
'modified colour palette'. Open up this and follow the instructions to install the alternative palette into your TEXTURE folder, and the colour of the yellow cheatline will change. I don't believe there are any other colour changes, so there is no real problem about using this alternative palette - I think the deeper yellow is more useful anyway. However, if you find that you are not happy with it, provided you have followed Dave McQueen's instruction properly, you will have the old palette which you can easily put back.

Look for a panel and sounds - there must be suitable ones out there somewhere.

      Have fun flying!
